Mappin & Webb Sterling Silver Trophy Bimini Tuna Tournament

A Sterling Silver Trophy made by Mappin & Webb in Sheffield England circa 1953. This wonderful award stands 14 inches tall and weighs 53 troy ounces. The cup itself measures 6 inches in diameter and 10 3/4 inches across from handle to handle. There is an applied oval disc with a man standing next to prize tuna in the center of the trophy with engraving just below: Bimini Annual Tuna Tournament / May 24-28 1954 / Presented by Bahamas Development Government Board / Awarded To / John Lee Isacs / For Biggest Fish Caught. Clearly hallmarked and in very nice condition.
