Elkington & Co English Silver Epergne & Candelabra Suite

A fine Edwardian Silver-Gilt Epergne and a pair of Victorian Silver-Gilt Candelabra made in Birmingham circa 1894-1904. The Epergne in the Georgian style of Thomas Pitts of London dating back to 1760. Pitts’ workshops influenced and gave start to such notable royal goldsmiths and silversmiths as Paul Storr and Rundell & Rundell. Elkington in his own right became the premier silversmith and manufacturer of his time. His factories and manufactures were prolific from the 1880’s to the 1920’s, producing fine wares for domestic and export. The epergne weighs 123.8 troy ounces and the candelabra weigh a combined 152 troy ounces.
